Finding good long term care can be daunting. Hospice nurses, home health nurses, residents, and their families agree: the care provided by Hollister Care Home is excellent.
Staffing Ratio
Five plus caregivers work around the clock to meet the needs of our residents. Staff to resident ratios can be as high as 1 to 1 and are never lower than 1 to 6. This means that no one flies under the radar. Staff know exactly where everyone is at all times and are aware and able to respond to needs as they arise.
Quality of Life
With a commitment to doing the right thing, even if it’s hard, staff go above and beyond to keep residents comfortable and happy. We consistently see residents’ quality of life improve, even if they are on hospice or have a terminal diagnosis. We’ve seen incontinence reverse, weight gained, and bed-ridden residents able to walk again. While not everyone experiences dramatic results, most residents look better and feel better under long term care at Hollister Care Home.
All-Inclusive Long Term Care
The care at Hollister Care Home is all-inclusive, providing for all non-medical care needs of our residents. This includes everything from medication management and assistance to help with activities of daily living to incontinence care to liaising with and arranging for medical care within the facility.
Staff are attentive to the emotional and psychological needs of our residents. This looks like identifying unmet needs and desires and then helping residents access what they need.
Activities within the Long Term Care Setting
From giving residents a sense of purpose to companionship, staff are always looking for ways to engage residents. Activities are arranged on a concierge basis according to the individual interests and physical and mental capabilities or our residents.

The state of California has several requirements prior to being admitted for long term care.
- Physician’s Report (LIC 602): every resident must have a TB test and a Physician’s Report completed within the past year. If your loved one is currently in a Skilled Nursing Facility or hospital, this will be part of the discharge paperwork. If your loved one is at home or in another facility, the report can be completed by the resident’s primary care physician OR Hollister Care Home can help arrange for a concierge doctor to come to your loved one’s home to complete the report.
- Assessment: Hollister Care Home must conduct an in-person assessment of your loved one.
- Facility Tour: Your loved one or his/her responsible party must tour the facility.
