I couldn’t imagine doing this with any other home we toured.

Partnering with Hollister Care Home in the care of your loved one means you can relax. Five shifts in a 24 hour period are noticing and responding to the ever-changing and challenging needs of your loved one. End the overwhelm and allow Hollister Care Home to take on the day-to-day care so that you have the space to rejuvenate, refresh, and build restful relationships.
Attention to Detail
With attention to detail and a little creativity, staff are constantly looking for ways to meet your loved one’s needs. The care is completely individualized. No move at this age is easy. However, we endeavor to maintain the familiar while making healthful choices and habits easy and accessible. It looks like cooking favorite recipes AND providing meals to enhance gut and brain health. It looks like spending time with your loved one and encouraging them to move. It looks like convincing them to participate in the care they need but don’t want.
When a new resident arrives, we focus on the basics — nutrition, hydration, medication, gut health, and hygiene — and let his or her mind and body dictate what happens next. With the right support can she walk again? If we keep him dry and schedule toileting can he regain continence? Is she losing weight because she needs to be fed? We don’t know what’s possible while we look to keep those in our care comfortable and give them every chance to get stronger and less dependent.
Total dependence is OK too. Every room comes with a bedridden and hospice waiver. This means that if we don’t see the improvement we hope for, we are prepared to keep your loved one as comfortable as possible and preserve as much dignity as possible through end-of-life.
In short, our comprehensive care plan takes stress and weight off your shoulders so that you can replenish your tank while giving your loved one the best quality of life possible.
Communication
None of this (and the dramatic results we regularly see) would be possible without thorough and consistent communication between shifts, with your loved one’s medical team, and you. With so many people involved in the care of your loved one, keeping track of updates can be challenging. Every shift is required to take shift notes noting:
- any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition
- how much they’ve eaten
- activities they participated in
- how much they’ve slept
- when they’ve last had a bowel movement
- etc…
This allows us to track patterns and provide feedback on our care strategy. If we have a suggestion, we’ll be in touch. You will also hear from us if we make a mistake.
Beauty Heals
Between original art, seasonal décor, and gardens where something is always blooming, your loved one will have access to beauty and nature, even if confined to her bed. High-scent flowers and fountains help engage all the senses.
Features
Six private rooms are stocked with 100% cotton bed linens for soft, breathable comfort. They feature custom closets, smart, dimmable overhead lighting, high speed internet, and a wall mounted TV. Each bedroom is filled with natural light and opens directly onto the beautifully landscaped grounds. While we encourage our residents to take advantage of our shaded outdoor seating areas, bedrooms of residents who wish to remain indoors are equipped with SAD lighting to reduce depression.
Common areas include several indoor and outdoor seating areas that allow residents space and privacy to visit with their loved ones outside of their bedrooms.
